HP Data Protector Express Software provides secure protection for data, applications and systems on a single machine or a small network without requiring an expert. This simple and reliable data protection is for Windows, Linux or NetWare with backup to disk, tape or DVD/CD. It is easy to add machines for protection, share backup devices and manage all this from a simple interface.
The D2Any2Any feature allows automated movement of data from backup media to other media easy disk-to-disk-to-tape backups. Data encryption is a standard feature. The Bare Metal Disaster Recovery Option automates system recovery after a serious failure. The online backup agent delivers protection for SQL Server and Exchange.
For users of Microsoft Small Business Server, there is a single solution with all the components required for protection.
All Data Protector Express components include one year support and delivery of fixes/ upgrades. Care Packs are available to upgrade and extend this support.
• For file servers, application servers and Windows desktops, Data Protector Express delivers fast and easy installation and operation. It does not require extensive training or specialist personnel. Interaction is via a Windows-like, customizable GUI with Wizards for most frequently run tasks.
• After a serious software or hardware failure, the BMDR option provides a fast and automated recovery process. Bootable CD/DVD or tape, via support for HP tape drives' One-Button Disaster Recovery feature, media is created to initiate the system recovery.
• Data Protector Express is the data protection component of the All in One Storage System . A special Data Express kit for the D2D Backup System completes the solution. Data Protector Single Server Edition is part of the StorageWorks tape drives and autoloaders solution.
